Marc Tetenman – Veterinary Technician

Marc Tetenman arrived in Jackson Hole from Maine in 1994 in pursuit of deep powder, mountain adventure, and perhaps questionable life decisions involving hockey and winter weather. Fortunately, he found exactly what he was looking for and has happily remained in the valley ever since.

Marc has been part of the local hockey scene since the mid-90s and has skated with various versions of the legendary Bud’s East Side Liquor Hockey Club since 1999. In the winter, you might spot him skiing the pass, chasing pucks around the rink, or conducting ongoing field research into the existence of Sasquatch and his elusive alpine cousin, the Yeti. During the warmer months, he can usually be found floating the river, wandering mountain trails, or playing guitar loudly enough that nearby wildlife briefly reconsiders its habitat choices.

Professionally, Marc has spent much of his life taking care of others—both human and animal. He is thrilled to be back working as a veterinary technician at Jackson Animal Hospital after spending more than a decade at Animal Care Clinic. Along the way, he has also worked as a carpenter, cabinet maker, hockey official, and labor and delivery nurse, which means he’s comfortable with chaos, bodily fluids, and very little sleep.

People often ask Marc whether he prefers working with people or animals. His answer is usually that both are wonderful, though animals rarely argue about discharge instructions.

Marc has also shared his life with a long line of beloved black dogs over the years, with Kojak currently holding the position. He is additionally supervised at home by two cats, Linguini and Tato, who maintain varying levels of approval regarding his life choices.

Above all else, Marc enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially his daughter Betsy and the love of his life, Trica.
