Miya grew up in Georgia, where she spent most of her childhood outdoors exploring woods, wildlife, and generally living life with a bit of a daredevil streak. Her love for animals grew and that led her to begin working at an all-animal boarding and daycare facility, where she groomed dogs and developed a strong understanding of animal behavior and body language.

She quickly transitioned into veterinary medicine as a veterinary assistant, supporting doctors and technicians in their daily work, and soon realized she had found her career path. She advanced to veterinary technician and has now spent 9 years in the field, where she enjoys the fast pace of clinical work and the teamwork it takes to provide excellent patient care. Miya is especially dedicated to calm, compassionate patient care and a smooth experience for both pets and their owners.

Although Miya enjoyed her life and career in the South, she and her husband, Hayden, eventually traded lakes for mountains and made the move from Georgia, to Colorado and now Wyoming. They quickly settled into life in the West and never looked back.

Miya now thrives at Jackson Animal Hospital as part of an incredible team. In her free time, Miya enjoys extreme sports, delicious food, and exploring Wyoming with Hayden, and their cats, Jazzy and Ringo.
